What is the difference between Gelato and Ice Cream?
Gelato is similar to ice cream, however, it has no eggs, half the fat and is slightly sweeter.
We flavor our gelato a little more intensely as well.
Gelato is an Italian form of ice cream that contains less fat than North American ice
cream – typically only 7%. Our gelato is also frozen in a machine that agitates the mix much
less, which prevents air buildup (called overrun), so the resulting product is more
dense than traditional ice cream.
Finally, Gelato is served at a slightly higher temperature,
so it tends to release very rich flavor tones compared to ice cream.
